Adam Shimmens

Adam is a lifelong aviation enthusiast that earned his Private Pilot licence in high school. He graduated from the University of Central Missouri with a Bachelor of Science in Aviation Management, Flight Operations Management.

He sits on the Board of Aeronautic Commissioners for the Kansas City/Lees Summit Regional Airport helping oversee the growth and safety of airport operations and economic development. With the rise of more advanced technologies, Adam has found a way to help aviation software companies across Part 121, 142, 135, 91 and 61, find new markets, create new solutions solving today’s problems, and ultimately ensure that the gains in efficiency and safety are built for the future needs.

Adam is also the Co-Founder and President of PilExOS, which provides a first of its kind Pilot Examiner Operations software platform bringing a much needed data-driven solution to the DPE Program to not only help Designated Pilot Examiners run their operations more efficiently and with greater transparency, but also, help to address the scheduling challenges that applicants and flight schools face when trying to navigate the FAA Practical Exam (Checkride) processes.

Adam aims to bring the years of practical knowledge and experiences their DPE customers have gained to the NFTA to help provide data backed insights and solutions to the Part 141 Modernization efforts to ensure quality of training and safety standards are the number one priority.
